| Limitations on scanner reception frequencies, including image frequencies,
(no cellular), permitted infrared surveillance of homes that are not
otherwise under surveillance, forbiddence of entry into your own home while
the police obtain a search warrant (lest you dispose of any evidence),
virtual if not absolute bans on firearm ownership, gun shows, private gun
dealers, etc., sanctions against the Boy Scouts for unusual adherence to moral
principles, the FBIs Carnivore monitoring of e-mail, (probably newsgroups
too, hello FBI), the elimination of private property rights, the prohibition
of occupancy from federal lands (parks) by homo sapiens, the massacre of
children at Waco, Randy Weaver, untold number of innocent people wielding
cellular phones and wallets killed by multiple punctures from 9mm or 40 cal
police weapons, the spotted owl and some dumb ass salamander versus the
American Farmer, and much much more. |
| In Thailand cars are usually squeaky clean. People typically overdress
for most occasions and put as much effort into their personal
appearance as their wallets will allow them. Making a good appearance
often means displaying wealth. It is very important to be seen talking
on the latest model cellular phone or driving a nice Mercedes (even
though they are more than likely bought on credit). Expensive
clothing, displays of gold and designer labels all contribute to a
polite image. |

| Wallets, newspapers, cellular phones, books, briefcases, grocery bags
and small pieces of paper very often go whizzing by held up in one
hand over the head and supported by a 45-degree-angle elbow in
Thailand. Its almost always a woman holding the object and the most
amazing part is that with her vision partially obscured, she still
manages to cross the street without getting plowed over. It is like a
magic system of radar or something. The reason for all of this? Sun
phobia. The object being held up is to block their face, even if it is
just a tiny part of it, from the evils of tanning. |
| As to the privacy issue pertaining to cordless phone and cellular phone
monitoring it is unfortunate that those frequencies fall into multi purpose
bands. Industry has already responded by marketing digital cellular phones
along with numerous models of digital security in 900MHZ cordless phones.
Products are available for consumers to purchase should they have concern
about privacy at near equal pricing to non secure conventional cordless
phones. Consumers do have a choice. |
