What is the future of analog service? Will they get enough customers on digital that theyll stop maintaining or enhancing analog service or discontinue it altogether? Are they even offering simple analog service to new customers? (My own rate is grandfathered in, no longer available.)
Robert Pierce wrote in message news:... Verizon still activates analog phones too PCjunkie wrote in message news:1b5d87b0.0109102210.64f90f90@posting.google.com... Does any national carrier in the US still activate analog phones? Also - A friend of mine has an analog plan with ATT (then Honolulu Wireless), and I was wondering what everyones thoughts are about upgrading from their analog to digital while STILL in a contract. Their phone is pretty much poop - I called 611 once to get some info from the automated system and within two minutes it beeped low battery and died. It was on 3 bars battery too... Its an Audiovox MVX460. Would ATT charge to do an ESN change? I know they dont charge for at least my prepaid account. I mean, if they cant upgrade to digital they could at least get a cheap Nokia 918 and hook it up. Thanks!
Michael Knight wrote in message ... Im looking for anyone who is thinking of throwing away there Analog cell phone to E-Mail me so that I can take it off there hands ill pay the shipping of course. The reason I want analog phones is because they are better then digital and Ive started a new hobby in collecting cell phones
i am looking for all cdma and analog cell phones that are water damaged. if you have any to give away , it would be much appreciated if you would send them to me . at this time , i would not offer anything for them do to being water damaged , but however might be able to work something out on postage if you are sending more than 5 phones . please send to: don po box 51 salem , iowa 52649 thank you
In my experience this doesnt actually work very well. When theres NO digital cell around, I can usually get analogue service, but often Ill see no bars of digital signal strength (not enough for a call!) but the phone wont switch to analogue mode. It stays in digital mode and is unusable. Have others had this problem?
